ATOMIC RULERS OF THE WORLD (1957) Ken Utsui, Junko Ikeuchi, Minoru Takada. What a plot. The high council of the Emerald planet is fearful that radiation from atomic tests on Earth will drift through space and eventually destroy their beautiful planet. So...they send Starman to the rescue! Our hero comes to earth and battles a bunch of gangster types and saves both planets. One of the campiest movies in our library and very entertaining in a mindless sort of way. Boring? Hardly. The action is almost frantic. Makes the liveliest Republic serial seem ho-hum. Plus: ATTACK FROM SPACE (1958) Ken Utsui, Utako Mitsuya, Kan Hayashi. Ludicrous but lovable. It’s Starman against an alien beast in the depths of space. Watch a total disregard for science as characters walk on space platforms without space suits or oxygen masks, while others fall off into space. Amazing. From 16mm.
