THE DEVIL’S NIGHTMARE (1971) Erika Blanc, Jean Servais, Daniel Emilfork. Tourists spend the night in the castle of an alchemist who has a dungeon lab. Another guest arrives, a beautiful woman who’s really a succubus. At night she kills off the tourists in horrific fashion. Blanc, the succubus, is stunning, yet when she transforms, her face becomes one of the scariest female monster faces ever. Emilfork is perfect as the Devil. Violence and nudity with a nude lesbian love scene. Color, 35mm. Plus: LONG HAIR OF DEATH (1964) Barbara Steele, Robert Rains. A woman under suspicion of witchcraft is burned alive. Her curse brings her back from the dead for revenge. This is certainly one of the more obscure of Barbara's films, and she has rarely looked so beautiful. A great Euro-horror film and certainly one of Barbara’s very best efforts. A must.
