(1951, aka THE BLACK EAGLE) Rossano Brazzi, Gianna Marie Canale, Nerio Bernardi, directed by Riccardo Freda. This is an action-packed adventure epic. Brazzi is a soldier returning home only to find that his family has been terrorized a cruel landowner. Seeking vengeance, Brazzi disguises himself as a mysterious masked man known as “the Black Eagle.” Things get tense when he begins pillaging the land owner’s domain. However, complications ensue when the Black Eagle falls head over heels for land owner's drop-dead gorgeous daughter! He even poses as a French tutor in order to be near her. Freda provides an exciting climax after the Black Eagle’s identity is finally revealed. This is a very obscure title, and quite entertaining. A must for Freda fans. 16mm.
