(1934) Victoria Hopper, John Loder, Margaret Lockwood, Roy Emerton, Mary Clare. A grand old-fashioned story of adventure, romance, and high drama set in and around the English moors in the 1600's. Hopper as Lorna, is a member of a notorious family of outlaws who bully and terrorize the local British citizens. She falls in love with John Ridd, (Loder) a brave, honest man whose own father was slain by the Doones. Naturally there are huge obstacles for them to overcome, especially from Carver Doone, the most dangerous member of the Doone clan. The acting is very good with many stock British players, and the action sequences are all well staged. Definitely worth a look. From 16mm.
