(1933, Upgraded 12/8/21) Lionel Atwill, Sheila Terry, Theodore Newton, Paul Hurst, Robert Ellis, Louis Alberni, Paul Fix. This is a well done little Monogram mystery chiller with Atwill in a dual role. A man seen at the scene of a murder is known to be mute. Yet, he is seen and heard talking while leaving the scene of the crime. Whats the ploy and who's the real killer? Watch for some tense scenes in a drawing room with detective Paul Hurst just "fooling around" at the piano. Look for Gabby Hayes in an uncredited role as a detective. PLEASE NOTE: Our DVD dubbing master was taken from a vintage nitrate 35mm original theatrical print. This print had standard theatrical wear (much of which we wet-gated out) and had no opening title cards; so we took a lower quality transfer of the opening title cards from a 16mm print and used them to complete our dubbing master. The rest of the print—being from 35mm—has that nice, crisp 35mm look. This is a very slight upgrade from our previous master, which had also been taken from the same film elements.
